On April 9th, the James A. Garfield Middle School celebrated the 2026 BETA Club Induction Ceremony held in The Iva. This special event welcomed 22 new 7th grade students and 7 new 8th grade students into the prestigious club, recognizing their outstanding academic achievements and dedication to community service.

To qualify for membership, students completed over 500 service hours and maintained a GPA of 3.8 or higher, demonstrating their commitment to the BETA Club’s core values: Leadership, Service, Character, and Achievement. These four pillars reflect the essence of the club, guiding students to excel not only in academics but also in their contributions to their school and community. They also share a strong correlation to our District's Core Values of Engagement, Integrity, Responsibility, and Kindness.

The ceremony was a success, highlighted by heartfelt speeches from both current and new members, each showcasing their dedication to the values of the BETA Club. Special thanks goes out to Miss Urban, our newly appointed BETA Club advisor, for organizing this memorable event and ensuring its smooth execution. The ceremony also recognized the generous sponsorship of the Middle School MVP Organization, which covered the cost of student memberships, making this opportunity accessible to all participants at no expense to the students or their families.

Following the induction, guests enjoyed refreshments in the commons, where cake, the Middle School's world famous punch, and photo opportunities were available to commemorate the event. It was a great night to be a G-Man!
