Go G-Men!

Mr. Rado’s eighth-grade History of Sports class brought their learning to life today with a field trip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame!

Go G-Men!

This new course grew out of Mr. Rado’s work last year to develop an additional course option to replace French 1 for some of our eighth-grade students. Students began the year studying Major League Baseball and the Olympics before recently completing their NFL unit, making today’s visit a great opportunity to connect their classroom learning with the history of the game.

Our tour guide, Tom, shared stories and history along the way as students explored the Hall of Fame through hands-on learning experiences. Students also attended a class on the history and evolution of the football helmet, learning how its design has changed over time.

The lessons extended beyond the game itself. Through the lens of football, students explored the importance of education, refusing to let limitations hold them back, and putting our Core Values of Integrity and Teamwork into action. These connections helped students see how lessons from sports can apply to their own lives, both inside and outside the classroom.

We wrapped up the day with a stop in the gift shop and a packed lunch on the steps of the original Hall of Fame building.

Go G-Men!

Thank you to Mr. Rado for all the work he has put in over the past year to turn this idea into a reality. His efforts have created a new opportunity for our students to explore history, build connections, and experience learning beyond the classroom.

Go G-Men!

While this article was created in part with the help of artificial intelligence, the experiences, learning, and memories shared by our students and staff were very much real. It was a great day to be a G-Man!
